Monmouth Field Hockey's O'Dwyer Named ECAC All-Star

EDISON, N.J. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2014 Division I Field Hockey All-Star teams.
The lone Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection to the ECAC All-Star team is Second Team Forward Trish O’Dwyer of Monmouth University. The 2014 MAAC Player and Offensive Player of the Year, was also named to the 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA All-American Third Team, and became the first field hockey player in the leagues short history to be earn All-American status. O’Dwyer paced the Hawks in 2014 with 53 points, setting the MAAC single-season mark, and helped guide Monmouth to the MAAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
O’Dwyer, who was selected to the NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic First Team, became Monmouth’s all-time points leader this season and in her two years of MAAC play, O’Dwyer scored 30 goals and registered 82 points. She finished the season ranked fifth in the nation in points per game averaging 2.52, eighth in assists per game with 0.81 and ninth in goals per game registering 0.86.
Monmouth’s Amanda Schoenfeld and Casey Hanna both landed on the NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team. Schoenfeld recorded a career-best 40 points this year, scoring 16 goals to go along with eight assists. The two-time All-MAAC player scored four goals during the MAAC Championships, including a hat trick in the title game, while dishing out an assist before being named All-MAAC Championship Team MVP. Hanna, the 2014 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, tied for second in the MAAC in defensive saves with five which ranked her ninth nationally. She started all 18 games for the Hawks and added one goal for two points and ten shots from the defender position. She helped lead a defense that ranked seventh in the nation with 11 defensive saves and recorded three shutouts, while being named to the All-MAAC First Team and All-Championship Team.
Quinnipiac’s Megan Conaboy was named to the NFHCA All-Mid-East First Team, while teammate Danielle Allan was named to the NFHCA All-Mid-East Second Team. Conaboy, the 2014 MAAC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, finished the regular season with 3 shutouts and ranked first in the league with 124 saves, which would be good for sixth nationally. She finished the regular season with a top ranked 6.89 saves per game, a 2.80 goals against average to go along with a .752 save percentage. She also played in all 18 games for the Bobcats while recording eight wins. Allan was named to the All-MAAC First Team and All-MAAC Championship Team racking up team highs in points with 20, goals with eight, and assists with four. For her MAAC career, Allan scored 17 goals while totaling 43 points.
