A change in roles for junior David Laury has proven to beneficial for the Gaels. Since he began coming off the bench, the Gaels have won seven straight games, including three road wins last week. Laury averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.7 assists while shooting 75.8% (25-for-33) from the field and 78.6% (22-for-28) from the free throw line. Laury opened the week with a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double at Monmouth where he hit nine of his 10 field goal attempts, and also contributed two assists and two blocked shots. On Friday night at Niagara, he recorded a career-high 28 points to go along with nine rebounds. Laury concluded the week with a 23-point, nine-rebound effort at second-place Canisius.
MAAC Rookie of the Week

The MAAC Rookie of the Week is freshman Jimmie Taylor III of Rider. Taylor averaged 13.3 points in three games for the Broncs, and also contributed 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Taylor averaged 33 minutes a game for Rider, and hit 7-of-13 three-point field goal attempts, and 7-of-8 from the foul line. Taylor scored 14 points against both Fairfield and Marist, and scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished off three assists against Quinnipiac. It is the second time this season that Taylor has been named Rookie of the Week.
