Edison, N.J. – Wagner College has recently been added to the top 20 rankings in the national water polo division I polls. Wagner controls the 20th spot, along with the University of Michigan and Hartwick College. Wagner received 4 votes to earn their three-way tie for the 20th spot in the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s rankings.

Wagner College led by Jessica Burdge and Jessica Lundgren, currently sit on a record of 3-4 with their last win coming in an 11-8 win over Harvard. Lundgren, the MAAC Rookie of the Year in 2013 and preseason All-MAAC selection got off to a strong start in 2014. Last weekend Lundgren totaled nine goals and 13 assists as the Seahawks won two of three games in the Princeton Invitational. Burdge, another preseason All-MAAC selection, is currently atop the MAAC in scoring offense with her 18 goals on the season. A native of Stockton, California, Burdge averages 2.57 goals per game.

Wagner has scored the 2nd most goals in the MAAC so far this season with 66 and has let up a total of 72 goals, which is good for 3rd in the conference. Wagner heads to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to take on George Washington this weekend in the Bison Invitational. The last time the two teams met, Wagner defeated George Washington 20-9.
