Lungren, Gaynor & Riddle Take Home MAAC Award Honors

Edison, N.J. – Wagner’s Jessica Lundgren was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Marisa Gaynor of Iona College was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week. The MAAC Rookie of the Week is Wagner College’s Emily Riddle.

 Jess Lundgren helped the Seahawks to three wins in last weekend’s MAAC/CWPA Crossover. The sophomore totaled 30 points off of 19 goals and 11 assists in four games, to go along with 15 steals, four drawn exclusions and one field block. Lundgren had two four-goal games on the first day of the tournament, before exploding for a career-high eight goals, alongside three assists and three steals in the 17-8 win over George Washington. In a 13-5 win over Bucknell, the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week recorded three goals, five assists, and three steals for the Green and White.

 Senior Marisa Gaynor registered a goals against average of 10.25 over four games this weekend for the Gaels at the CWPA/MAAC Crossover in Cambridge. Gaynor tallied two double-digit save efforts, including an 11 save game against George Washington. Against the Crimson of Harvard, Gaynor also registered four steals and grabbed a total of seven in the four contests over the weekend.

 Emily Riddle was clutch in the net for Wagner in this past weekend’s MAAC/CWPA Crossover, posting a 3-1 record in the net. The freshman saved 31 of 69 shots with a 9.5 goals against average in four games. Riddle saved four shots in a 13-5 win over Bucknell, which was the lowest amount of goals the 8-7 Seahawks have allowed on the season. In the 17-8 win over George Washington, Riddle posted a career-high 14 saves while only allowing eight goals.
