Avery, Clorley & Harris Named Corvias ECAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Edison, N.J. – Iona College's  Kate Avery and Daniel Clorley as well as Saint Peter's University Isaiah Harris have been named Corvias ECAC Division I Metro/Upstate Men's and Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Avery set a new MAAC record in the mile with a time of 4:38.16 defeating the old MAAC record by 10 seconds and then followed that performance up with a first place run in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:48.76. 

Clorley placed first in the mile with a time of 4:08.66. He followed that performance with a first place finish in the 3,000 meters with an 8:22 effort. Clorley led the Gaels with 20 points for his team to lead a dominating performance in the distance events for the Gael Men. 

Harris placed first in the long jump with a 7.23 meter effort. He followed that with a first place finish in the triple jump with a performance of 15.44 meters. He capped of his night with a record breaking first place finish in the high jump of 2.21 meters. His high jump is his new personal best in the event and broke the MAAC record for the meet set in 2005. Isaiah had quite an outstanding night scoring a total of 30 points for his team.
