Iona junior forward David Laury who came off the bench to score 21 points in the Gaels’ 85-73 victory over Manhattan before a nationally televised audience on ESPNU.  Laury matched his season-high point total by shooting 6-of-7 from the field and 9-of-11 from the foul line.  Hitting 82 percent from the foul line was significant for Laury, who entered the contest shooting less than 50.0% on the year.  Laury also grabbed eight rebounds which tied for the team-high.  Laury added three assists while committing just one turnover, and had a blocked shot in the win. This is the first time this season that Laury has been recognized as the MAAC Player of the Week. The 6-foot-9 forward leads the league in field goal percentage, converting 57.0 per cent of his shots.
