In the winter of 2013 Monmouth University announced plans to build Monmouth Stadium, the future home of the Hawks’ football, men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field squads.
Monmouth Stadium will be defined by a grand new entry way that welcomes Hawk fans to brand new seating concourse that features concessions stands, restrooms, chair-back seating, an exclusive reception area, a state of the art multimedia center, and customer service/ticket sales windows. Brick will encase the facility, which will feature a similar style as the Multipurpose Activity Center. The first floor entrance provides fans with easy access to customer service/ticket windows, concession stands that feature new menu options and large, permanent restroom facilities.
Season ticket holders and special guests to Monmouth Stadium will enjoy a unique reception area on the second floor of the concourse that includes exclusive access to concessions and merchandise along with 50-yard line views of Kessler Field and easy access to prime seating. With over 800 chair back seats and an overall seating capacity of 4,000 Hawk fans will have the opportunity to watch nearly half of Monmouth’s 450 student-athletes compete from the premier outdoor facility on the University’s 156 acre campus.
The state-of-the-art press box and multimedia center will give fans that can’t make it to campus more opportunities than ever to watch their Hawks compete on TV and the Internet. Ample camera locations and connections and enhanced technological features will more national and regional game-day broadcasts along with an even higher quality presentation on HawkVision. The facility will also feature coaching boxes, a video production room and a number of multimedia broadcast booths.
This $15 million project will be made possible by generous and loyal supporters of Monmouth University and Monmouth Athletics. Construction will begin after local zoning board approval has been granted and the necessary funds have been raised. The construction phase of the project is estimated to be 6 months.
