Solomon and Reagan Earn MAAC Tennis Player of the Week Honors

MAAC Men’s Player of the Week

Ofir Solomon, Fairfield University

So., Plainview, N.Y., John F. Kennedy

Ofir Solomon posted singles and doubles victories in the Stags’ 7-0 victory over Lafayette on March 8. In the No. 2 spot, Solomon defeated the Leopards’ Brian Stefanowicz, 6-0, 6-1. Solomon then teamed up with Bjorn Merinder to edge Lafayette’s Chris Matturri and Gavin Studner, 8-4, in the No. 2 doubles spot.

MAAC Women’s Player of the Week

Erika Reagan, Siena College

So., 5-7, Mt. Laurel, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep

Reagan clinched a dramatic five-hour match for Siena with a 6-3 and 6-4 win over St. Cloud State’s Gabbie Pung at No. 6 singles. The match was tied at 4-4 before Reagan pulled out the win. Reagan teamed with Carly Holloway for an impressive 8-1 win over Jordee Matson and El O’Brien in doubles play that helped Siena take two of three doubles matches. The match concluded Sunday night and was the first of three contests the Saints will play in Central Florida as part of their annual Spring Break trip.
