Edison, N.J. – Following a great week of competition, the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week is Amy Olsen of Iona College. The MAAC Defensive Player of the Week is Siena’s goalkeeper Madeline Hurley, while the MAAC Rookie of the Week is Bailey Huddleston of VMI.

Senior Amy Olsen led the Gaels with 14 goals over four games at the Lancer Invitational hosted by No.20 California Baptist University. Olsen scored three goals against No.9 Loyola Marymount, before a two goal effort against the host Lancers. Olsen had her standout game of the weekend against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, scoring five goals in a 12-5 win for the Gaels. Olsen closed out the weekend with a four goal effort against La Verne.

Madeline Hurley played great between the pipes for Siena in 176 minutes of action. Hurley recorded 70 saves in her efforts last week. Hurley recorded a Siena school record of 25 saves against Chapman on March 11th as the Saints earned their third straight win after defeating Chapman 10-9 on the golden goal in overtime. Hurley followed up her 25 save night with another double digit save night against Whittier as she recorded 13 saves in 32 minutes of play. Keeping her turnovers to a minimum, Hurley kept her goals against average for the week down to a stellar 9.45.

Huddleston was an offensive force for the Keydets this week, netting 21 goals in seven games, leading VMI to a 3-4 week in their final games on the West Coast. Huddleston scored multiple goals in every game this week, including 10 in two games, five against both Whittier and Caltech, with both contests being played in the same day. The rookie logged three hat tricks on the week, including three goals against Chapman in VMI’s second double overtime game of their California tour. Huddleston averaged three goals per game during the week.
