2014 MAAC Women's Basketball Seeds Determined

EDISON, N.J. – The seeds are set for the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Championships, March 6-10, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.
Top-seeded Iona earned a first round bye and will face the winner of the #8 vs. #9 first round game, Niagara vs. Monmouth. The Gaels will open play in the Championship on Friday, March 7 at noon.
The No. 2 seed, Marist, the defending champions, will face the winner of the #7 vs. #10 contest, Manhattan vs. Siena, also in the quarterfinals.
One other first round game features the #6 seed, Rider, vs. #11 seeded Saint Peter’s.
The remaining two quarterfinal round games will pit #3 Fairfield vs. the winner of the Rider vs. Saint Peter’s game, and #4 Quinnipiac vs. #5 Canisius.
Three opening round contests will be played on March 6, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The quarterfinals will be played on March 7, and the semifinals will be on March 9.
The 2014 MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship title game will be played at 2 p.m. and will
be televised on ESPNU.
