Emerson Bursis – Rider University – Men’s Basketball

Jr., F., 6-5, 200, Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mountain East

A member of the MAAC All-Academic Team, Bursis is one of just 118 players in Division I to be nominated for the NABC’s and Allstate Insurance Company 2014 Allstate NABC Good Works Team.  A walk-on at Rider now in his third season, Bursis is committed to enriching the lives of others while contributing to the greater good of his communities, both in the Mercer County area and in his hometown of Scotrun, Pa.  Bursis has helped out with children as a coach and teacher in his hometown and has volunteered at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and with the Mercer County Heart Walk. An Economics and Finance double major with a 3.9 grade point average, Bursis spent September of 2012 working at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina and hopes to attend law school in his future. A career 80 percent shooter from the field, Bursis averages 16.1 points per game per 40 minutes played over three seasons.

Brittany McQuain – Quinnipiac University - Women’s Basketball

Sr., 6-0, F., Independence, Mo./William Chrisman

Brittany McQuain averaged 22 points and six rebounds in the final week of regular season action for the Bobcats. She scored a team-high 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting against Iona, while also converting 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Quinnipiac then traveled to Manhattan where McQuain poured in 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting in the team’s 86-78 win. She passed Maria Holland ’86 for ninth place on the all-time Quinnipiac scoring list with her effort. She also averaged 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 assists per game.
