MAAC Men's BB Quarterfinals To Be Broadcast On ESPN3

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – All four quarterfinal round games of the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship, on Saturday, March 8, will be broadcast on ESPN3.
The quarterfinals get underway at noon when top-seeded Iona takes on 8th seeded Rider. Rider advanced following a 71-60 first round win over Monmouth.
The second quarterfinal game will feature 4th seeded Canisius taking on 5th seeded Siena, at 2:30.
Second seeded Manhattan will face Saint Peter’s at 6:30. Saint Peter’s advanced to the quarterfinals with a thrilling 65-62 overtime win over Fairfield in the first round. The Peacocks’ Desi Washington drilled a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining for the victory.
The last quarterfinal round contest is scheduled for 9:00 and features third-seeded Quinnipiac against 11th seed Niagara. The Purple Eagles scored a 78-76 win over Marist in the first round, staving off a second half rally by the Red Foxes, who nearly overcame a 24-point deficit.
Veteran announcers Doug Sherman and Rob Kennedy will handle announcing duties as the play by play and analyst for the ESPN3 broadcasts.
Sunday’s men’s semifinals, at 4:30 and 7:00 p.m., will also be broadcast on ESPN3. The 2014 MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship game on Monday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m., will be televised on ESPN2.
