Time Warner Cable to Broadcast MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Final

EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced that the 2014 Men's Lacrosse Championship Final will be telecast live on Time Warner Cable on Saturday, May. 3 at 11 a.m.
“The MAAC is pleased to partner with Time Warner Cable to broadcast the 2014 Men’s Lacrosse Championship throughout the state of New York” said Richard J. Ensor Esq., Commissioner of the MAAC. “MAAC men’s lacrosse has improved its national profile each year since the league was formed and this broadcast opportunity only improves the league’s visibility”.
Time Warner Cable handled the production of all three games of the 2013 Men’s Lacrosse Championship which took place at the Demske Sports Complex on the campus of Canisius College. All three games were carried live on ESPN3, while the championship final aired live on the local Time Warner Cable channel and the semifinal contests were on tape delay airing after the completion of competition of the semifinals (live to tape).
“Televising our Men’s Lacrosse Championship game has been high a priority for the MAAC as we look to continue to grow the national reputation of our lacrosse conference” said Canisius College Director of Athletics, Bill Maher. “The effort of Marist College and Time Warner Sports to help us ensure this championship broadcast has been fantastic and is another great step for our league in establishing our place among the top Division I lacrosse conferences”.
The 2014 Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be held at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field on the campus of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. This will be the seventh time that the Men’s Lacrosse Championship is held at Tenney Stadium with the last time being the 2012 Championship.
“I am thrilled and excited about the partnership with Time Warner” said Tim Murray, Marist College Director of Athletics. “Giving our lacrosse programs an opportunity to be seen outside of our region can be very important to the growth of MAAC lacrosse”.
The semifinals will be held on Thursday, May 1. Both contests will be broadcast live on MAAC.TV.
