Saints Clinch Spot in MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship

Edison, N.J. – The Siena Saints have secured their spot in the 2014 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship to be held May 1-3 at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field on the campus of Marist College.
Siena clinched their spot after beating the defending MAAC Champions Detroit 9-8 in overtime on Saturday with two weeks remaining in the regular season. With the win, Siena has now qualified for seventh time in the past eight seasons after having never qualified in the program’s first 11 years in the MAAC. The Saints are currently atop of the MAAC with a conference record of 4-0 and 7-4 overall. Siena last won a MAAC Title in 2011.
The MAAC preseason favorites, Siena can clinch the program’s sixth MAAC Regular Season Title in the past eight years with a win next Saturday at Quinnipiac.
The semifinals of the 2014 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship will take place on Thursday, May 1 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The semifinal games will air live on MAAC.TV. The title game of the championship will be on Saturday, May 3 and air live on Time Warner Cable at 11 a.m.
