Monmouth Sweeps Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week

Edison, NJ –Monmouth University's Vincent DuVernois and Kate Frye were named the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week for April 14th.
Vincent DuVernois won the javelin at the Princeton Quadrangular Meet on Saturday by nearly 25 feet, besting the next closest competitor by a wide margin. His throw measured 235’3”, a huge mark and good for 11th nationally, joining last week’s MAAC Performer of the Week McLean Lipschutz, who is 12th nationally.
Kate Frye won the 400 meter dash at the Princeton Quadrangular Meet on Saturday, racing the course in 53.86 and setting a new school record in the process. Frye wasn’t done, later in the day she also helped lead the MU women’s 4x400 relay group to a win in the event and a ECAC qualifying time of 3:44.47. Overall, she won two events on the day, both with strong times for ECAC qualification.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held on May 3rd and 4th at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
