MAAC Tennis Championships Set for this Weekend

Edison, NJ - The 2014 MAAC Tennis Championships begin this weekend, April 26-27 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, New Jersey.

The first men's semifinal matchup action will take place on Saturday, April 26 between top-seeded Marist and fourth-seeded Fairfield at 10 a.m. Marist won the 2014 MAAC Men’s regular Season title with a perfect 7-0 record.  Fairfield finished 4-3 in MAAC play.

Second-seeded Monmouth and third-seeded Niagara will vie for a place in the MAAC Championship match in the second semifinal matchup also at 10 a.m. Monmouth ended the season 6-1 in the MAAC while Niagara finished with a MAAC record of 5-2.

The women's semifinal matchup is also on Saturday, April 26 between top-seeded Quinnipiac and fourth-seeded Marist at 2 p.m. Quinnipiac earned  the MAAC Women’s Regular Season Championship Title and finished the season 8-0 in the MAAC. Marist clinched the fourth spot in the championship with a record of 5-3 in MAAC play.

Also at 2 p.m. the second-seeded Fairfield Stags and third-seeded Niagara Purple Eagles compete in the second semifinal matchup. Fairfield finished the regular season with a 7-1 record. Niagara finished with a 6-2 record in MAAC play.

The championship matches will take place on Sunday, April 27 between the winners of the semifinal matches.

The joint MAAC Tennis and Rowing Awards Show will take place on Friday, April 25 at 6 p.m. and is free to viewers on MAAC.TV.
