The Field of Four is Set for the 2014 Women's Lacrosse Championship

EDISON, N.J. – The teams are now set for the 2014 Women’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be held at Demske Sports Complex on the campus of Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. on May 2 and 4. Canisius College, Fairfield University, Marist College, and Monmouth University have all secured their spots in the upcoming championship.
Marist College (13-2, 7-0) will be the top seed and have clinched at least a share of the regular season title, while Monmouth University (7-9, 4-3) will be the No. 4 seed. The Red Foxes and the Hawks face off on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the regular season finale and then will meet again in the semifinals round of the championship on Friday May 2 at 5:00 p.m.
Canisius College (10-5, 6-1) and Fairfield University (11-4, 6-1) also have a meeting on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. to end the regular season. The winner of Saturday’s match will earn the No. 2 seed and the loser will be the No. 3 seed in the championship. The two teams will face off again on Saturday May 2 at 8:00 p.m. in the semifinals round of the championship.
If Monmouth defeats Marist on Saturday, the winner of the Canisius versus Fairfield match will earn a share of the regular season crown with the Red Foxes.
The title game will be held on Sunday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable. Both semifinal contests will be broadcast live on MAAC.TV.
