Michael  Sagl – Quinnipiac – Men’s Lacrosse

Junior, Attack, 5-10, 175, West Islip, N.Y./West Islip

Michael Sagl factored in nearly half of Quinnipiac’s offensive output last week, recording 10 points in two Bobcat victories. On Tuesday night, Sagl led the way by netting his first hat trick of the season in a 12-11 triumph at America East power Stony Brook. He also added two assists to complete his first five-point game this year. Sagl’s second five-point game this season came over the weekend, when Quinnipiac handed Monmouth a 17-9 defeat on its home turf. Sagl mustered two goals and three assists in the game – extending his point-streak to 28 straight games, while moving within four assists of Joe Baglio's all-time assist mark at Quinnipiac. He (115) is now eight points away from catching Andy Pelletier for sixth place on the all-time points list. Sagl’s 28-game point-streak is tied for the nation’s 14th longest active streak.

Carrie-Jo Farrugia – Niagara – Women’s Lacrosse

Junior,  Attack, 5-4, Jordan-Elbridge, N.Y. /Jordan-Elbridge

Junior Carrie-Jo Farrugia has been a force on the offensive end for the Niagara women’s lacrosse team during the 2014 campaign. Farrugia leads the Purple and White with 22 goals and 31 points, while is second on the team with nine helpers on the season.  After her career-high five-goal effort against the Monmouth Hawks on Apr. 5, the junior pushed her career total to 54 tallies and point total to 90 in 40 games, 10 points away from cracking the 100-point mark.  Farrugia is 11 points away from tying Rachel Jones ('05) for the 10th spot on Niagara's career points list. The Jordan Elbridge, N.Y. native also pocketed a career-high seven points in the 18-13 victory over St. Bonaventure (March 20) off four goals and three assists, which earned her MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
