Maria Kotas Named ECAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Canisius College senior midfielder Maria Kotas has been named ECAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of The Week.
Kotas set the single-game program record for points when she netted 14 (eight goals and six assists) and tied the school record for goals in a game when the Griffs topped Quinnipiac 23-15 on Sunday.
Kotas’ outburst tied her for fourth all-time in NCAA Division I history for the most points in a single contest, and were the most points scored by anyone since 2007. Kotas also tied the MAAC record for points in a game. The eight goals and six assists were each career highs in their own right.
The Lancaster, N.Y. native also collected a career-high eight draw controls, picked up a game-high five ground balls and tied for the team lead with two caused turnovers on Sunday.
In addition to Sunday’s stat line, the senior also added three goals, five ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers in Wednesday’s contest with Marist.
Kotas finished the week with a total of 17 points, 11 goals, six assists, 10 draw controls, 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers in just two games.
