INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Siena College baseball team will face Texas Christian University in the Fort Worth Regional when the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship gets underway May 30.
The Saints came out of the elimination bracket to win four consecutive games and claim the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship yesterday after a doubleheader sweep over regular season champs Canisius at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J. The Saints, who are 26-31 but have won eight of their last 10 games, are returning to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 1999.
TCU (42-15) won the Big 12 championship with a 7-1 win over Oklahoma State on Sunday. The Horned Frogs are the No. 7 seed overall in the field, and are hosting a regional for a fourth time.
Also in the Forth Worth Regional are Sam Houston State and Dallas Baptist, who will face off in the opening round.
The winner of the Forth Worth Regional will face the winner of the San Louis Obispo Regional. The San Louis Obispo Regional includes Cal Poly, Sacramento State, Pepperdine and Arizona State.
