Rider's Aldaya and Fairfield's Theiller Named ECAC Volleyball Players of the Week

EDISON, N.J. – Rider University’s freshman Emma Aldaya and Fairfield University’s freshman Megan Theiller have been honored by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) as Division I volleyball weekly award winners.

Aldaya has been named the Co-Libero of the Week. Aldaya helped Rider to a second place finish at Fordham’s Rose Hill Classic with an average of 5.08 digs per set. Against the host Rams, the freshman had 31 digs as Rider took the match in five sets. She added 21 digs and six assists in Saturday’s 3-0 win over FDU.

Aldaya shares the honor with Adriana Viñas Joy of LIU Brooklyn.

Theiller was named Rookie of the Week. Theiller had an impressive week for the Stags, racking up two double-doubles in three matches, including a pair of 20-dig performances. She averaged 4.50 digs and 2.92 kills per set and had a .984 reception percentage on the week.
