The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (CCAP) heads the Connecticut Cycling Festival scheduled for a second year in Hartford on September 20 and 21 and is based in Middletown. CCAP’s mission is to better the lives of youth and young adults through the sport of cycling with a goal of creating, sustaining and growing high school bike club programs throughout the state, more than 22 exist right now.
“This summer we hosted youth mountain bike program in New Haven in conjunction with the New Haven Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees,” explained Aidan Charles, Executive Director of CCAP. “Large & Page was very helpful in securing media coverage for this and our Tuesday night training and racing series all summer at Rentschler Field,” concluded Charles.
"We started publicity for CCAP in early May with a plan to build recognition about the sport and health benefits of cycling,” explained Large & Page President, Kay Page Greaser. “This should strengthen interest and attendance during the September Cycling Festival.”
In addition, this month Large & Page secured a three year contract with the Times Union Center (TUC) in Albany NY and the Metro Atlantic Athletic League (MAAC) to continue handling publicity for the many the ancillary basketball related events leading up to and during the March MAAC Men’s and Women’s College Basketball Championships to be held starting in 2015 at TUC. The MAAC consists of eleven schools - Canisius College, Fairfield University, Iona College, Manhattan College, Monmouth University, Marist College, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University and Siena College.
“Kay and her team’s understanding and enthusiasm about college basketball in the MAAC league impressed us tremendously the past few years when we hosted the tournament at the MassMutual Center in Springfield,” explained MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “We are excited to have them back to help us garner the same buzz about basketball throughout the league communities, but especially in the greater Albany area,” Ensor remarked.
Large & Page Communications was formed in 1991 and since then have provided communications, marketing and public relations services to more than 60 companies, municipalities and non-profit organizations including the earlier in 2014 addition of Bobby V's Restaurant and Sports Bar in Windsor Locks and the other statewide Sportech Venues.
