Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Rachelle Ross, Monmouth 

Fr., F, 5-8, Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape

Rachelle Ross added three goals and an assist for seven points in two Monmouth shutout victories on the week. The freshman, who has now scored four goals in the last three games, posted the game-winner in both games this week. At FDU, Ross scored twice for MU on the road and then added a goal and an assist in the Hawks’ home win over Lafayette on Sunday. Monmouth, which has now registered four straight shutout victories, is 5-2 on the season, while Ross, who has started five straight games, leads the team with four goals and an assist for nine points.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Kathleen Early, Fairfield

Sr., GK, 5-8, Rockville Centre, N.Y,/Kellenberg Memorial

Kathleen Early’s defensive prowess helped the Stags to an unbeaten weekend. The senior had arguably the best game of her career against unbeaten Holy Cross. Early stopped a career-high 12 shots and held the 25th best scoring offense in the country to one goal while seeing 23 shots. Early also saved seven shots in the first half alone. In the win against Stony Brook, Early stopped the potential winning goal when she blocked a penalty kick and then was able to regroup and save the rebounded shot. On the weekend, Early notched 16 saves.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Marisa Bentley, Iona 

Fr., F, 5-5, Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee

Freshman Marisa Bentley tallied her first collegiate goal in the Gaels' non-conference matchup at Hartford. In the fourth minute, taking a feed from teammate Erika Flowers, Bentley scored from just outside the box for her first career tally.
