Borja Angoitia, the reigning MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year, recorded his first clean sheet of the season in a 0-0 draw with Army over the weekend. Angoitia made three saves which gave the junior netminder his 17th career shutout – good enough for second all-time in Quinnipiac history. Angoitia also ranks second with both 24 wins and a 1.16 goals against average during his time in Hamden. Angoitia trails Freddy Hall in all three categories, standing just two wins shy of matching Hall’s top mark.
Amanda Sedore, Niagara, Volleyball, 6-1, Senior, Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder
Amanda Sedore is a senior outside hitter for the Niagara Purple Eagles volleyball team. During her junior season, she started in all 29 matches and 103 sets. Sedore set career-highs in kills, attacks, assists, aces, digs, blocks and points. She led the team in attacks, kills, kills per set, points per set and total points with 346. She also led the team with five double-doubles. Sedore finished the season fifth in the MAAC in kills per set and seventh in points per set. She was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the second year in a row. This year, Sedore leads the team in kills and kills per set and is second in total points while starting in every match. The Webster, N.Y. native will graduate with a degree in management.
