Lauren Behrens, Saint Peter’s
Jr., RS, 5-11, Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East
Behrens led Saint Peter's to two straight victories for the first time since 2010. Saint Peter's went 2-1 this weekend at the Crosstown Tournament, defeating Delaware St. and Lafayette. Behrens amassed 43 kills, 31 digs and accounted for four total blocks at the tournament. She was also named to the All-Tournament team. She recorded a career-high 25 kills (.467 kill pct.) in the four-set victory, snapping a five-game losing streak against the Hornets. Behrens paced the Peacocks with 16 kills in the victory over Lafayette, snapping a four-game losing streak against the Leopards.
Libero of the Week
Brooke Zywick, Marist
Sr., L, 5-4, Garden City, Mich./John Glenn
Zywick averaged 3.71 digs and 1.21 assists per set as Marist went 4-0 this week. She also had a serve receive percentage of .980. Zywick had 15 digs, four assists and two aces in a three-set sweep of Army on Sept. 10. Zywick then totaled 15 digs and five assists in a three-set sweep at Lafayette on Sept. 12. She contributed nine digs, four assists and two aces as Marist defeated Delaware State in three sets in their first match on Sept. 13. In their second match, Zywick’s 13 digs, four assists and one ace helped Marist topple Lehigh in five sets.
Rookie of the Week
Megan Theiller, Fairfield
Fr., RS/DS, 5-10, Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay-East Fishkill
Rookie Megan Theiller had another impressive week for the Stags, averaging 3.33 digs and 2.78 kills per set. She also had a .983 reception percentage, committing just one error in 60 chances, at the Brown Invitational. In the Stags win over UMass Lowell, Theiller posted five kills, eight digs, and a block. Against CCSU, Theiller just missed a double- double, finishing with 11 kills, nine digs, and two total blocks. Against Liberty, she just missed another double- double, registering nine kills and 13 digs.
