Sydney Engelberger, Monmouth, Women's Track & Field, Distance, Jr., Great Barrington, Mass.
This past weekend, she won the 3000 at the Rutgers Invitational with a time of 10:29.67. Earlier this season, Engelberger helped Monmouth to a team victory at the 6th Annual MAC Classic by winning the mile with a time of 5:10.91. Engelberger is a junior studying education with a concentration in anthropology.
Shane Baxter, Niagara, Swimming & Diving, Backstroke/IM, Sr., Ottawa, Ont.
Baxter opened the season for the Purple Eagles at the North East Catholic Invitational with three individual titles. He took first place in the 200 individual medley (1:57.22), the 100 backstroke (51.67), and the 200 backstroke (1:55.64). The senior also helped the Purple Eagles to a third place finish at the 2014 Zippy Invitational hosted by Akron University. Baxter led the way with two individual titles by the end of the meet. The Ottawa, Ont. native won the 200 backstroke and the 100 butterfly. Baxter set the Zippy Meet record and Akron Pool record in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:47.17. Additionally, Baxter broke a NU team record in the 200 individual medley (1:51.81) which was good for third place at the meet. Recently, Baxter took second place in the 100 backstroke (51.77) against the University at Buffalo Bulls on Jan. 10.
