Samantha Guastella, Quinnipiac, Women's Basketball, Forward, Sr., Red Bank, N.J.

Samantha Guastella led the Bobcats’ in scoring in a week in which QU outscored their two MAAC opponents by an average of 37.0 PPG. In two games, Guastella averaged 17 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 2.0 BPG and 1.5 APG in just 20 MPG. Even more impressive for Guastella is the senior forward shot 63.2 percent (12-for-19) from the floor and a blistering 61.5 percent (8-for-13) from behind the arc. She also made a little history as her 20-point night against Fairfield on ESPN3 gave her 1,000 career points, making her the 21st player in program history to reach the career milestone. In that showcase game on ESPN3, Guastella posted her game-high 20 points (7-13 FG, 4-8 3FG) in 24 minutes to go along with three blocks and two assists to help lead the way for a convincing 83-43 victory over intrastate rival Fairfield. On Sunday, Guastella was nearly perfect as she finished with 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-5 3FG) with four rebounds in just 16 minutes of action to lead QU past Manhattan, 85-51, at home.

Teddy Okereafor, Rider, Men's Basketball, Guard, Jr., London, England

Teddy O. came to Rider from London, England by way of Virginia Commonwealth University.   At VCU Teddy played in 58 games over two seasons but averaged less than eight minutes played per game, so he came to Rider for the opportunity to play more minutes.  This season Okereafor is averaging a team-high 32.5 minutes played per game and has led Rider to first place in the MAAC.  Teddy was recently honored at Rider’s Academic Achievement Night for having a grade point average above 3.00. On the court, he is filling the stat sheet, as he ranks among the top two Broncs in scoring, rebounding, assists, free throw shooting, steals and three-pointers made. He led Rider to victories over Manhattan (16 points, 7 assists, 6 steals), Siena (28 points), Lehigh (29 points) and Morgan State (21 points).
