MAAC Trio Earns Corvias ECAC Weekly Honors

EDISON, N.J. – Sheldon Derenoncourt from Manhattan College and Taylor Bernstein from Monmouth University earn Corvias ECAC Co-Athletes of the Week for Metro/Upstate and Emily Wolff from Quinnipiac University receives Corvias ECAC Rookie of the Week in New England for Indoor Track and Field honors.

At the Gotham Cup, Derenoncourt finished in fourth place in the 500-meter run. His IC4A qualifying time of 1:03.24 was .61 seconds off of the first place finisher in the 70-man field. Later in the meet, Derenoncourt led Manhattan to a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a IC4A qualifying time of 3:19.45.

At the Angry Birds Invitational, Bernstein took home first place in the shot put with a IC4A qualifying toss of 16.60 meters. His shot cleared the field by .02 meters. In the weight throw, Bernstein came in third place with a IC4A qualifying throw of 17.07 meters.

Wolff won the 5000-meter run at Saturday's Gotham Cup at the New York Armory. She defeated the 11-person field with a blazing time of 17:42.70, clearing the pack by over 35 seconds. Her time moved her into eighth place in the Bobcats' record book.
