Hetzke Earns Women's Basketball ECAC Rookie of the Week Award

EDISON, N.J. – Siena College freshman forward Margot Hetzke was named Division I Women’s Basketball Metro/Upstate “Rookie of the Week” by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Hetzke averaged a double-double with 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds to go along with 2.0 blocks in a 2-0 week for the Saints. The rookie forward scored the game-winning basket with 9.4 seconds left in regulation as the Saints pulled out a key road win at Monmouth. On Saturday, Hetzke scored a game-high tying 18 points and added 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season in the Saints’ win over Manhattan.
Hetzke has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week three times and has been chosen as the MAAC Rookie of the Week seven times this season.
The 2014-15 season culminates with the MAAC Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. March 5-9. Tickets can be purchased here.
