Player of the Week

Briana Flagg - Siena

Jr., OH, 5-10, Naperville, IL/Rosary

Flagg had a career weekend, averaging 5.12 kills and 3.12 digs while hitting .293 on the outside. The junior had a career-best and match-high 21 kills in Siena’s 3-1 loss to Fairfield Saturday, and rounded out a double-double with 11 digs. Flagg had seven more kills than any other player in the match and finished with 22 points. In Siena’s 3-1 victory over Quinnipiac Sunday, Flagg again reached 20 kills, and completed her seventh double-double of the season with 14 digs. Flagg also received 31 services without an error and posted a career-high four aces against the Bobcats. She had eight kills in 10 swings without an error in the first set, keying a .517 team attack percentage in a dominant 25-12 victory. Flagg leads the MAAC with 3.89 kills per set and has emerged as the top outside threat in the conference after entering the season with just 56 total kills over her first two seasons.       

Libero of the Week

Mallory Bechtold - Fairfield

Fr., LIB, 5-9, Cincinnatti, OH/Ursuline

In the Stags’ 2-0 week, Bechtold averaged 5.78 digs per set in nine frames of work. Bechtold accumulated 52 total digs.  27 in the four-set win at Siena and 25 in the five-set, comeback victory at Marist. She was also perfect on 56 serve receptions from the Fairfield back row. Bechtold filled out the statsheet with five assists and two service aces in both road games for Fairfield.

Rookie of the Week

Claire Archibald – Iona

Fr., OH, 5-10, Coto De Caza, CA/Santa Margarita Catholic

In two MAAC contests, Archibald posted 35 kills and 40 digs. She recorded a career-high 20 kills vs. Saint Peter's Saturday  and added 16 digs. In a four-set win over previously unbeaten Rider Sunday, Archibald had 15 kills and a career-high 24 digs and was perfect on a team-high 27 serve receptions. Archibald tallied 50 points in three overall contests for Iona.  For the week, the freshman outside hitter averaged 3.50 digs and 3.29 kills per set.
