Event Updates
Iona
On September 27, the Iona College softball team volunteered at Hounds on the Sound. At this event, Pet Rescue and the New Rochelle Humane Society set up a fun-filled day for both dogs and their owners. It’s a fun day along the sound filled with entertainment, food, and activities, with a mission to find homes for as many dogs and cats awaiting adoption.
Manhattan
The Women's Basketball team attended the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure in Central Park recently. They helped set-up and passed out water, Gatorade, and assorted fruits to race participants crossing the finish line. The team and coaching staff had a wonderful time helping out at the race.
Marist
The Marist Men’s and Women’s Track and Field team participated in the annual Out of the Darkness Walk on September 27, which aims to prevent suicide, raise awareness, and end the stigma that surrounds depression and other mental disorders.
Niagara
Niagara students loaded trucks for the “Sandals for Soles” project, which provides footwear for those visiting the Maid of the Mist. The footwear is then donated to those in need.
Saint Peter’s
The Women's Bowling Team at Saint Peter’s University assisted in campus kitchen at the university. They took unused food and repackaged it into healthy meals to be delivered to homeless shelters that were in need of food. As a team they plan to continue doing this for the next few weeks.
