EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schedule continues into October with MAAC Championships a few short weeks away. Some teams have clinched a championship berth in their respective sport, while others look to close out the season on a winning streak for the chance to compete for a MAAC Championship.
Preseason favorite Monmouth University currently leads the MAAC men’s soccer standings with 17 points. The Hawks are both 5-0-2 in MAAC play. Marist College and Rider University are tied with 13 points each. The Red Foxes stand at 4-1-1 while the Broncs hold a 4-2-1 record. There are ten MAAC men’s soccer matchups this week, five on Wednesday, October 21 and five on Saturday, October 24. On Wednesday, October 21 the matchups are:
· Quinnipiac versus Fairfield at 2:00 p.m.
· Saint Peter’s versus Iona at 2:00 p.m.
· Canisius versus Niagara at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3
· Manhattan versus Monmouth at 7:00 p.m.
· Marist versus Siena at 7:00 p.m.
The matchups on Saturday, October 24 are:
· Quinnipiac versus Iona at 2:00 p.m.
· Saint Peter’s versus Canisius at 2:00 p.m.
· Manhattan versus Marist at 2:00 p.m.
· Fairfield versus Rider at 7:00 p.m.
· Monmouth versus Niagara at 7:00 p.m.

On the volleyball court, Rider University leads the MAAC volleyball standings with a 9-1 record and are 14-10 overall. Siena College and Manhattan College round out the top three in the standings, with the Saints holding a 7-2 record in MAAC play, and the Jaspers are in third with a 6-3 record in MAAC play. There are three non-conference matchups this week. On Thursday, October 22, Siena is at Binghamton for a 7:00 p.m. start. On Saturday, October 24, Fairfield battles in-state rival, Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. On Sunday, October 25, Quinnipiac versus UMass Lowell at 1:00 p.m. The first conference game of the week takes place on Wednesday, October 21 when Saint Peter’s takes on Manhattan at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, October 22, Connecticut rivals Quinnipiac and Fairfield square off in Hamden at 7:00 p.m. There are eight conference games over the weekend beginning on Saturday, October 24 with the following contests:
· Canisius versus Iona at 1:00 p.m.
· Marist versus Saint Peter’s at 1:00 p.m.
· Niagara versus Manhattan at 1:00 p.m.
· Siena versus Rider at 1:00 p.m.
On Sunday, October 25 there are four MAAC volleyball games:
· Canisius versus Manhattan at 1:00 p.m.
· Marist versus Rider at 1:00 p.m.
· Siena versus Saint Peter’s at 1:00 p.m.
· Niagara versus Iona at 1:00 p.m.

Monmouth University is currently first in the MAAC women’s soccer standings with 21 points and has clinched a postseason berth. Manhattan is in second place with 17 points and a 5-0-2 record in MAAC play. The Jaspers have also clinched a playoff berth. There are ten MAAC games on the women’s soccer schedule this week with five games on Wednesday, October 21 and five games on Saturday, October 24. The schedule for Wednesday, October 14 includes:
· Siena versus Marist at 3:00 p.m.
· Iona versus Saint Peter’s at 3:00 p.m.
· Fairfield versus Quinnipiac at 7:00 p.m.
· Niagara versus Canisius at 7:00 p.m.
· Monmouth versus Manhattan at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3
On Saturday, October 24 the matchups are:
· Rider versus Fairfield at 1:00 p.m.
· Niagara versus Monmouth at 1:00 p.m.
· Iona versus Quinnipiac at 2:00 p.m.
· Marist versus Manhattan 4:00 p.m.
· Canisius versus Saint Peter’s at 7:00 p.m.

Quinnipiac University currently leads the MAAC field hockey standings with a perfect 3-0 record in conference play. Monmouth University is in second place with a 2-0 record. The lone non-conference matchup this week will see Bryant University host La Salle University on Sunday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. There are six MAAC matchups this week with three on Friday, October 23 and three on Sunday, October 25. The schedule for Friday, October 23 is:
· Fairfield versus Bryant at 3:00 p.m.
· Monmouth versus Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m.
· Rider versus Quinnipiac at 4:30 p.m.
On Sunday, October 25 the matchups are:
· Rider versus Sacred Heart at noon
· Monmouth versus Quinnipiac at 1:00 p.m.
· Fairfield versus Siena at 1:00 p.m.

On the track this week, Monmouth University and Quinnipiac University are competing in the Central Connecticut State 13th Annual Mini Meet on Friday, October 23.
In swimming and diving action, Canisius is competing in the University of Rochester Invite on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. Iona faces St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, October 24. Marist welcomes Fordham for a meet on Thursday, October 22. Monmouth faces Fordham and Fairfield on Friday, October 23. Niagara faces Binghamton and Siena on Saturday, October 24. Rider faces Lehigh on Saturday, October 24.
