Offensive Player of the Week
Rachel Konowal, Monmouth

Rachel Konowal continued her strong start to MAAC play, turning in a three-point effort in the Hawks’ come-from-behind victory over Rider on Sunday. The sophomore assisted on Meg Donahue’s goal in the first half to tie the score at 1-1, before adding a goal of her own in the 48th minute to even the score at two. Konowal, who has a goal and three assists in the first two MAAC games, scored on her only shot of the afternoon. For the year, Konowal now has seven points on the strength of two goals and three assists, all career-high marks.
Defensive Player of the Week
Casey Hanna, Monmouth
Jr., D, 5-4, Seaville, NJ / Ocean City
Casey Hanna anchored the Monmouth defense in the 4-3 victory over rival Rider. The junior worked both ends of the field, disrupting numerous Broncs attacking possessions. The 2014 league defensive player of the year generated the Hawks’ first goal of the afternoon. After a tackle in the defensive end, Hanna carried the ball 30 yards between defenders before dishing off to Rachel Konowal, who set up Meg Donahue’s goal in the first half. Hanna, who also added a pair of shots in the victory, and the defense did not allow a Rider attacking opportunity in the final 11:03 of the game.
Rookie of the Week
Jessica Randazzo, Rider
Fr., MF, 5-3, Media, PA / Cardinal O’Hara
Jessica Randazzo continued her strong rookie campaign with six points for the past week, as the Broncs went 1-1. Against Fairfield, she scored the game-winning goal, snapping a 4-4 tie with 2:58 left in regulation. Randazzo also assisted on the first goal of the game that gave the Broncs a 1-0 lead At Monmouth, Randazzo again assisted on the opening goal of the game and her tally two minutes into the second half gave Rider a 2-1 lead before falling to Monmouth 4-3.
