Miller and Schiffhauer earn MAAC Cross Country Runners of the Week

Men’s Runner of the Week:
Chartt Miller, Iona
Junior, Perth, Australia / Ocean Reef
Sophomore Chartt Miller finished eighth overall leading the No. 5 Iona College men's cross country team at the star-studded Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin. The Iona Gaels Men’s Cross Country team finished fifth behind No. 2 Syracuse, No. 9 BYU, No. 8 Michigan, and No. 7 Virginia in what has become one the sport's premiere regular season races. Miller was the Gaels top performer in the event that had 17 ranked programs and 10 others receiving votes out of the 36-team event, completing the 8,000-meter course in 23:44.7, earning his second MAAC Runner of the Week award this season.
Women’s Runner of the Week:
Mara Schiffhauer, Marist
Sophomore, Tabernacle, N.J. / Seneca High School
Sophomore Mara Schiffhauer had a breakthrough race at the 49th annual Albany Invitational, placing third overall out of nearly 200 runners, to lead the Marist College women’s cross country team to a second-place finish out of 17 teams on Saturday. The event was held on the campus of UAlbany and Schiffhauer completed the 5,000-meter course in 17:59.5, one of only three runners to dip under the 18-minute barrier for the course on a windy and chilly day.
