MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships Set for Halloween

EDISON, NJ - The 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s and women’s cross country championships will take place Saturday, October 31st, at Rosedale Park in Pennington, New Jersey. The championship races will showcase more than 350 competitors from the 11 MAAC institutions. Rider University serves as the host for this year’s championships.
The Iona College men’s cross country team will be looking to take home their 25th consecutive MAAC title. The Gaels will enter the championship ranked 9th nationally in the USTFCCCA coaches poll. Iona will be led by 2014 second place finisher Otis Ubriaco, third place finisher Gilbert Kirui and seventh place finisher Chartt Miller, who will all be looking to finish the conference championship race as the first overall runner.
Iona’s women’s cross country team will pursue its 11th consecutive MAAC crown. The squad is led by the 2014 runner up Tara Jameson and fifth place finisher Melissa Hawtin, which will both be looking to take home the individual championship in 2015.
The women's championship race will start at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men's championship at 12:00 p.m.
The 2015 MAAC cross country awards show will be broadcast free of charge on MAAC.TV. The show will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Student Recreation Center on the campus of Rider University. MAAC.TV will also post highlights and interviews with cross country student-athletes and coaches following the races.
