EDISON, NJ – The first fall championships take place this week for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The first round of the Women’s Soccer Championship takes place on Saturday, October 31. The three and four seeds will be hosting. These seeds are still TBA. The MAAC Cross Country Championships take place on Saturday, October 31 and will be hosted by Rider University. The regular season for men’s and women’s soccer comes to a close this week.

Monmouth University is the 2015 regular season women’s soccer champions after defeating Niagara 2-0 last week. The Hawks have clinched a first round bye. Rider University, Manhattan College, Niagara University, and Marist College have all clinched a playoff berth. The two through five seeds will be determined after the final day of action for women’s soccer on Wednesday, October 28. There are five games on the schedule for the final day of the regular season.

·         Marist versus Niagara at 1:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac versus Siena at 2:00 p.m.

·         Saint Peter’s versus Fairfield at 2:00 p.m.

·         Canisius versus Rider at 4:00 p.m.

·         Manhattan versus Iona at 7:00 p.m.

The 2015 MAAC men’s and women’s cross country championships take place this weekend at Rosedale Park in Pennington, NJ. Rider University will be hosting. Monmouth University has also clinched the 2015 regular season crown in men’s soccer after defeating Niagara 5-3 last weekend. The Hawks will be the number one overall seed and have earned a first round bye. They are the only school to have clinched a playoff berth as of now, but there are ten more regular season MAAC men’s soccer games to be played. The schedule for Wednesday, October 28 includes:

·         Iona versus Manhattan at 1:00 p.m.

·         Siena versus Quinnipiac at 2:00 p.m.

·         Rider versus Canisius at 2:00 p.m.

·         Niagara versus Marist at 3:30 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Saint Peter’s at 7:00 p.m.

The final day of the regular season takes place on Saturday, October 31 for men’s soccer. The games scheduled include:

·         Niagara versus Fairfield at 1:00 p.m.

·         Saint Peter’s versus Siena at 2:00 p.m.

·         Marist versus Monmouth at 7:00 p.m.

·         Rider versus Quinnipiac at 7:00 p.m.

·         Canisius versus Manhattan at 7:00 p.m.

Siena College is currently riding a four game winning streak on the volleyball court and has taken over first place in the MAAC standings. Rider University is in second at 9-2 in the MAAC while Marist College, Manhattan College, and Fairfield University round out the top five, respectively. There are 12 MAAC volleyball games this week with the action beginning on Wednesday, October 28.  The three games on that day are:

·         Canisius versus Niagara at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN3

·         Rider versus Manhattan at 7:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac versus Siena at 7:00 p.m.

The schedule for Saturday, October 31 includes:

·         Rider versus Saint Peters at 1:00 p.m.

·         Manhattan versus Siena at 1:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac versus Niagara at 1:00 p.m.

·         Iona versus Marist at 1:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Canisius at 1:00 p.m.

On Sunday, November 1 the following teams are in action:

·         Fairfield versus Niagara at 1:00 p.m.

·         Iona versus Siena at 1:00 p.m.

·         Manhattan versus Marist at 1:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac versus Canisius at 1:00 p.m.

Monmouth University currently leads the MAAC field hockey standings with a 4-0 record in conference play. Quinnipiac University is in second place with a 4-1 record. The regular season wraps up as well for field hockey this week. The MAAC Field Hockey Championships take place on November 6-8. There are six regular season games left to be played. The schedule for Friday, October 30 includes:

·         Siena versus Monmouth at 3:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m.

·         Bryant versus Rider at 7:00 p.m.

On Sunday, November 1 the matchups are:

·         Siena versus Rider at noon

·         Bryant versus Monmouth at 1:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac versus Fairfield at 1:00 p.m.
