WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – In the midst of a 14-match unbeaten streak, the Monmouth University men’s soccer team has climbed to the No. 22 ranking in the NSCAA NCAA Division I Men’s National Poll and the No. 26 position in the College Soccer News Top 30 National Poll, the two organizations have announced. The ranking in the NSCAA Poll is the highest for Monmouth since the 2012 season, while the Hawks have risen to as high as the No. 4 national ranking in the 2010 season. In addition, the Hawks, who clinched the 2015 MAAC Regular Season Championship with a win over Niagara on Saturday, are ranked first the NSCAA Northeast Region Rankings for the second-straight week.

The Hawks’ 14-match unbeaten streak (11-0-3) is the second-longest in the nation, tied with No. 4 Stanford and No. 8 Denver behind top-ranked Creighton (15 games). Monmouth currently leads the nation with 10 different players with at least two goals, led by Colin Stripling (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains Fanwood) with six and Dave Nigro (Marlboro, NJ/Marlboro) and John Egan with five goals apiece. Junior goalkeeper Eric Klenofsky (Lincoln Park, NJ/DePaul Catholic), the two-time defending NCAA Division I Statistical Champion in Goals-Against Average, has posted a 0.84 GAA and an .779 save percentage, while piling up seven clean sheets this year.

Monmouth wraps up the regular season Saturday night, when it travels to Marist. Kickoff from Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field in Poughkeepsie, NY, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
