Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Sam Lynch, Monmouth

Jr., 6-0, Ocean, N.J./Ocean Township

In the Hawks’ first swim meet in 32 years, junior Sam Lynch won the men’s 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly. Lynch finished the 100-yard backstroke in 51.96 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 50.97 seconds, which was 4.11 seconds faster than the second place finisher. Lynch also swam a 22.15 in the men’s 200-yard freestyle relay to help the Hawks’ finish second behind Fairfield.

Men’s Diver of the Week

Josh Dodway, Marist

Sr., 5-8, Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna

Dodway qualified for the NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships on the 1- and 3-M boards during Marist’s dual meet against Fordham. He racked up 310.58 points on 1-M and 313.43 points on 3-M, winning both events. He scored 18 points for the Red Foxes despite their 109-135 loss to the Rams.

Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Theresa Cotter, Siena

Fr., 5-9, Clarksville, MD/Atholton

In Siena’s victory over Holy Cross, Cotter racked up 29 points with three first place finishes for the Saints. She took the top spot in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events clocking in at 1:01.13 and 2:11.35 respectively. She also swam the backstroke leg on the first place 400-yard medley relay team for the Saints. Later in the week, she took first place in the 200-yard backstroke again (2:09.76) in a tri-meet against Binghamton and Niagara. She also took second place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.25) as the Saints fell to Binghamton and defeated MAAC foe Niagara.

Women’s Diver of the Week

Hailey Beers, Siena

Sr., 5-5, Brockport N.Y./Brockport

In the Saints mid-week victory over Holy Cross, Beers finished second in both dive events. She recorded a season best score of 230.92 in the 1-M and a cumulative score of 233.32 in the 3-M event. In the Saints tri-meet against Binghamton and Niagara, Beers took first place in the 1-M, scoring 194.30. To finish off her week, Beers placed 3rd in the 3-M with a score of 187.90. Despite losing to Binghamton, the Saints defeated MAAC rival Niagara, 190-108.
