Manhattan College to Host 2016 MAAC Baseball Championship at Dutchess Stadium

EDISON, NJ – For the second year in a row, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) will hold its 2016 MAAC Baseball Championship at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York, the home of the Hudson Valley Renegades, the Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Manhattan College will again serve as the host institution of the championship.
The MAAC Baseball Championship takes place from May 25-29. The top six schools will compete for a chance to be named 2016 MAAC Baseball Champions. Canisius College is the reigning champion from a season ago. Prior to last season, Dutchess Stadium hosted the MAAC Baseball Championship in 2010.
Noah D. LeFevre, director of intercollegiate athletics, Manhattan College said, “Manhattan College is once again very excited to be able to host the MAAC baseball tournament at Dutchess Stadium. The Hudson Valley Renegades and Dutchess Stadium have been terrific partners for us. We are looking forward to providing a great championship event atmosphere for the students participating.”
The stadium has hosted a total of 12 MAAC Baseball Championships. The venue holds 4,500 fans and opened in 1994.
