Quinnipiac University Takes Home the 2015 MAAC Women's Cross Country Championship

PENNINGTON, NJ –The Quinnipiac University women’s cross country team claimed the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Cross Country Championship at Rosedale Park in Pennington, New Jersey. Iona College senior, Tara Jameson was the top finisher of the meet.
Quinnipiac women claimed its first ever MAAC crown with a team score of 39 points. Junior Niamh Ashe finished second overall with a time of 21:16.74, and lead the Quinnipiac Bobcats as their first finisher. Senior Tracy Campbell finished fourth overall and second for the Bobcats with a time of 21:19.44.
Iona came in second with 65 points led by Jameson, while Monmouth came in third with 85 points. Fourth place went to Rider with a total of 116 points, fifth was Marist with 122 points, sixth was Canisius with 158 points and seventh was Manhattan with 162 points. Siena came in eighth place with 190 points, ninth place went to Fairfield with 240 points, tenth place was Niagara with 317 points and Saint Peter’s rounded out the meet with 360 points.
The 2015 women’s cross country coach of the year is Carolyn Martin from Quinnipiac University.
