Ann Burgoyne - Fairfield
Field Hockey, Junior, Forward, Blue Bell, Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy
Ann Burgoyne, a Junior forward for Fairfield field hockey has been nationally ranked for most of the season, posting 7 goals and 14 total points in her first eight appearances. Burgoyne is the leading scorer on Fairfield and has posted a goal in five of the team's first eight games in the 2015 season so far. Burgoyne comes off one of the program's best offensive seasons as she tallied 19 goals in 19 games during the 2014 season, which placed her fourth in Division I with 1.00 goals per game. In the classroom, Burgoyne has seen success as a New Media/Film and TV major earning a 3.69 cumulative GPA and was honored as a member of the NFHCA All-Academic Team.
Marcos Nunez - Iona
Soccer, Sophomore, Forward, Tabaiba Baja, Spain/La Salle San Ildentonso
Marcos Nunez leads the Iona College men’s soccer program with five goals this season, and combine that with his two assists, the junior is tied for team lead with 12 points thus far this season. In addition, Nunez is tied for second with 12 shots on goal, and his shots on goal percentage is 48%. The first goal of the Gaels season came from the foot on Nunez when he scored the lone net-finder for the Gaels in their 1-1 opening draw against James Madison. The junior would score his second goal of the season in Iona’s 3-1 over Stony Brook on Sep. 9. Nunez's first assist of the season came on Sep. 12 when he passed it to his teammate, Brendan Reardon, for the game-winning goal in the Gael’s 1-0 win over Drexel. Nunez's best game of the season came when Iona beat the Niagara Purple Eagles on Sep. 26, tallying six goals in their conference opener and Nunez scored the first and fourth of the game, in addition to assisting on the second goal as well.
