Cunningham, Duncan & Millington Earn ECAC Honors For Week Ending October 4

Three Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) student-athletes earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) honors for the week ending on October 4.

Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

Kourtney Cunningham – Rider University, Fr., Forward/Midfield, Whitehall, Pa.

Freshman Kourtney Cunningham registered a six-point week, leading Rider University to a 2-0 week in conference play. In an 8-0 shutout win over Saint Peter’s on Wednesday, Cunningham scored two goals and recorded one assist for five points. On Saturday against Iona, the freshman assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-0 shutout win.

Men’s Golf Rookie of the Month

Kevin Duncan – Fairfield University, Fr., Rocky River, Ohio.

Duncan capped his first month as a collegiate golfer as the individual champion of the 2015 ECAC Championship. Duncan fired a two-day 142, including a 1-under-par 70 in the opening round at The Club at River Oaks to lead the Stags to their first-ever ECAC crown. In seven total rounds in September, Duncan registered an average round of 74.57 (+2.86), fueled by a team-best greens-in-regulation average of .659 that led to 18 birdies.

Volleyball Libero of the Week

Lexi Millington – Marist College, Jr., Libero, Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Millington averaged 5.62 digs and 0.50 aces per set as Marist defeated Canisius and Niagara, respectively, on its Western New York swing. She posted 22 digs and chipped in five assists and three service aces in a 3-1 win at Canisius on Oct. 3. In another four set win over the Purple Eagles the following day, she racked up 23 digs. Millington finished the two matches with seven assists and four service aces in addition to 45 digs after playing in all eight sets.
