Player of the Week

Haley Howell – Siena

Jr., S, 5-10, Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic

Howell averaged 11.6 assists and 4.2 digs per set while hitting .429 from her setter’s post. Howell had back-to-back double doubles in the victories over Canisius and Niagara, raising her season total to 15. Howell also posted back-to-back 50 assist games, beginning the week by matching her career-high with 54 in the five-set win over the Griffs. Howell killed seven of her 14 attacks on the weekend with just one error, and added six  blocks. Her marquee effort came in the four-set win over Niagara, as she had 50 assists (12.5/set) and a career-high 22 digs while killing three of her seven attacks without an error and adding five blocks. Howell leads the MAAC with 10.5 assists per set.    

Libero of the Week

Lexi Millington – Marist

Jr., LIB, 5-9, Manhattan Beach, CA/Mira Costa

Millington played in all 12 sets in three matches for Marist, averaging 6.42 digs and 1.17 assists per frame as the Red Foxes went 2-1 and moved into third place in the MAAC standings. She tied a season-high with 25 digs and finished with four service aces at Fairfield on Nov. 4. Millington chipped in 20 digs in a sweep of Niagara on Nov. 7 and followed up with her strongest match of the year against Canisius the following day, as she set new career highs with 32 digs and nine assists alongside three service aces. In the three MAAC matches, Millington totaled 77 digs, 14 assists and eight service aces.  

Rookie of the Week

Darby Taylor-  Siena

Fr., OH/RS, 6-2, Thorold, ON/Eden

Taylor was a major factor in Siena’s home sweep of Canisius and Niagara that saw the Saints retake first place in the MAAC. She averaged 3.0 kills and 3.0 digs per set and posted double-doubles in both matches. She hit .264 on the outside and was one of the top servers on the team, beginning the rotation behind the endline in most sets. Taylor had 11 kills and 17 digs in the win over Canisius, and 16 kills and 10 digs in the victory over Niagara. She hit .371 against the Purple Eagles, averaging four kills per set.
