2015 MAAC Volleyball Championship Field Set

EDISON, NJ – The 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Volleyball regular season came to a close on Sunday, November 15 and now the six team field is set for the 2015 MAAC Volleyball Championship. The championship will be hosted by Siena College in Loudonville, New York from Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 22.
Fairfield University is the regular season champions. The Stags finished the regular season with a 14-4 record in the MAAC and a 19-9 overall record. Fairfield won nine games in a row to close out the season and finished with an 8-1 record at home in conference play, which was best in the MAAC. Fairfield has earned a first round bye in the championship.
Marist College finished in second place with a 13-5 record in the MAAC and a 20-9 overall record. The Red Foxes have earned a first round bye. Marist has competed in back to back championship title matches and will look to win its first MAAC Volleyball championship this weekend.
Siena College finished in third place with a 12-6 record in conference play and a 16-12 overall record. The defending champion Saints will take on sixth seeded Niagara University, who clinched a championship berth on the last day of the season with a 3-0 win over Rider University. The Saints will face the Purple Eagles on Friday, November 20 at 8:00 p.m. Siena swept the season series with Niagara. The Purple Eagles were back-to-back-to-back champions from 2009 to 2011. They finished MAAC play with a 9-9 record to earn the sixth and final spot in the championship.
Manhattan College will be the fourth seed in the championship after finishing the regular season with a 12-6 record in the MAAC and a 19-13 overall record. Manhattan and Siena finished tied for third with the Saints holding the tiebreaker. The Jaspers will be taking on fifth seeded Rider University in the first match of the championship weekend on Friday, November 20 at 5:00 p.m. The Broncs finished with an 11-7 record in the MAAC and a 16-16 overall record. The Jaspers and the Broncs split the season series.
