Jaspers Advance to Semifinals After Opening Round Win Over Rider

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The fourth seeded Manhattan Jaspers defeated fifth seeded Rider Broncs in straight sets to advance to the 2015 MAAC Volleyball Championship Semifinals and will face top seeded Fairfield University on Saturday, November 21 at 5:00 p.m. on ESPN3.
The Jaspers won each set 25-16, 25-22 and 25-20, respectively. Jade Gray recorded 30 assists to go along with six digs and five kills while hitting at a .625 mark. Milena Janjusevic led Manhattan with 12 kills and added six digs. Ivana Kostic posted a .400 hitting percentage in addition to seven blocks, six kills, and five digs. For the Broncs, Veronica Koval recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs. Emma Aldaya added 14 digs in the defeat. These two teams split the season series during the regular season. As a team, Manhattan posted a hitting percentage of .218. Janjusevic led all players with 15 points in this opening round match.
