2015 MAAC Volleyball Championship Semifinals Set

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The 2015 MAAC Volleyball Championship semifinal matchups are set after two exciting matches during the opening day of competition.
Number four seed Manhattan College knocked off fifth seeded Rider University in straight sets to advance to the semifinals. The Jaspers take on number one seed and regular season champion, Fairfield University tonight at 5:00 p.m. on ESPN3. The Stags finished the regular season with a 14-4 record in the MAAC and a 19-9 overall record. Manhattan finished the regular season with a 12-6 record in the MAAC and a 19-13 overall record. During the regular season, Fairfield won both matches over the Jaspers.
In the second semifinal match, number two seed Marist College will face number six seed Niagara University. The Purple Eagles find themselves in the semifinals after defeating the defending champions and host school Siena College in straight sets. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3. Marist College finished the regular season with a 13-5 record in the MAAC and a 20-9 overall record. Niagara finished MAAC play with a 9-9 record and a 12-16 overall record to earn the sixth and final spot in the championship. During the regular season, Marist swept both matchups over Niagara.
