Sam Lapszynski, Niagara

Sam Lapszynski averaged 25.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game in Niagara’s match-ups against Cleveland State and Detroit this weekend. Lapsynski led the Purple Eagles in scoring in both games. Against Cleveland State, she had the first double-double of her career with 24 points and 11 rebounds. She also had a career-best three blocks. The Purple Eagles went on to win the game in overtime, 73-72. The Purple Eagles fell to Detroit, 75-80, but Lapszynski broke her scoring record, scoring a career-high 27 points.
Rookie of the Week
Sara Hinriksdottir, Canisius
Fr., G, 5-11, Keflavik, Iceland/Keflavik
Newcomer Sara Hinriksdottir had a breakout week for the Blue and Gold, scoring a career-high 12 in a win against Binghamton and chipped in four in a win against Bucknell. The first-year player averaged eight points per game through the two contests, and shot 58.3 from the field (7-of-12). She too was accurate from beyond the arc (2-of-4) hitting 50 percent of her treys. The Keflavik, Iceland native also averaged 3.0 rebounds per game and added three total assists during the week.
