Jaspers Alex Shackley Scores Game Winning Goal as Time Expires to Lead Manhattan 1-0 Over Saint Peter's

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – With one second remaining in regulation between eighth seeded Saint Peter’s University and ninth seeded Manhattan College, Jaspers senior captain Alex Shackley scored off a long service pass into traffic from Dahrius Waldron to deliver the game winning goal as the clock struck zero. The goal came at the 89:59 mark in the second half and it was Shackley’s fifth goal of the season.

Manhattan goalkeeper R.J. Noll recorded his third shutout of the season while recording one save in this opening round matchup in the 2015 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship. The Jaspers recorded 19 total shots in this game, outshooting the Peacocks 19-9.

With the win today against Saint Peter’s, the Jaspers will be taking on top seeded Monmouth University tomorrow on Friday, November 6 at 2:15 p.m. on ESPN3 in quarterfinals action. Monmouth defeated Saint Peter’s on October 14 by a score of 3-1.
