Siena defeats Marist 1-0 in Men's Soccer Quarterfinals

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The first quarterfinal game of the 2015 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship ended with sixth seeded Siena College defeating the third seeded Marist College by a 1-0 score.
After the first half, Milorad Sobot of Siena buried a penalty kick with 55 seconds left in the first half giving the Siena Saints the 1-0 lead over the Marist.
The possession was even between the two teams throughout the first half of play, but Siena led in shots with eight and Marist finished with seven. The team’s total shots were 13 for Marist and Siena with 15. Siena sophomore Alexander Tejera had four shots total and two on goal. Gianni Carillo got his sixth shutout of the season and now he has a 7-3-1 record overall.
Sixth seeded Siena will play second seed Rider on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 pm on ESPN 3. The winner of that game will play in the 2015 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship on Monday, November 9.
