2015 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals Set

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The 2015 men's soccer championship semifinals have been set. After an exciting three games in the opening round and four exciting quarterfinals games, there are four teams remaining with the goal of being crowned 2015 MAAC Men's Soccer Champions.
The first semifinals game takes place on Sunday, November 8 at 11 a.m. on ESPN3 when #5 Iona College will take on #1 Monmouth University. The Gaels advanced to the semifinals after defeating #4 Fairfield 1-0 on a penalty kick by Oscar Gonzalez. The Hawks find themselves in the semifinals after defeating #9 Manhattan 2-1 after David Acuna Camacho scored in the 87th minute to give the Hawks a win over the Jaspers. When these two teams met in the regular season, Monmouth was victorious over Iona 1-0 back on September 30.
The second semifinals matchup takes place on Sunday, November 8 and will see #6 Siena College take on #2 Rider University at 2 p.m. on ESPN3. Siena defeated #11 Niagara 1-0 in the opening round and upset #3 Marist 1-0 in the quarterfinals on Milorad Sobot’s penalty kick in the 45th minute. When these two teams met in the regular season, Rider defeated Siena by a score of 3-2 on October 10 in a double overtime contest.
The winners of these two semifinals matchups will meet on Monday, November 9 at noon on ESPN3 on Field 17 at ESPNs Wide World of Sports. The eventual 2015 MAAC men's soccer champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
